An honest, courageous essay

JACKSONVILLE — Thanks, Meredith Anton, for writing such an honest and courageous essay describing things that I, too, struggle with daily.

It seems ever more confusing when trying to explain to growing children these things, the inexplicable - what to say and how to phrase it so as not to judge.

Up near my kitchen sink is the poem “The Peace of Wild Things” by Wendell Berry, and it does my heart some good.

I thank you for putting your voice out here. All the best to you in the new year.

Amtrak service in Vermont resumes in July

The Vermont Agency of Transportation (AOT) announced last week that Amtrak passenger rail service in Vermont will resume, effective July 19. “We are very pleased to announce the restart of these vital transportation services for Vermonters and those who wish to travel to and from Vermont by train or bus,” said Transportation Secretary Joe Flynn in a news release.
