Bos-Lun, Goldman: accomplished legislators

WESTMINSTER-As we approach the general election, I encourage voters in District 3 (Westminster, Brookline, and Rockingham) to take a close look at the legislative accomplishments of Rep. Michelle Bos-Lun and Rep. Leslie Goldman.

Michelle Bos-Lun has served in the House for two terms (four years) and is running again this election cycle to hold her seat.

She has worked tirelessly to help solve many of the pressing issues facing our towns, county, and state. She has been a stalwart supporter of forward-looking proposals to curb carbon dioxide emissions, cut fossil fuel dependency, and find ways to mitigate the rapidly increasing negative effects of climate change.

Michelle recognizes the dire need for housing and associated funding solutions. She supported a proposed tax on only 1.1% of Vermonters - those with incomes exceeding $500,000. The bill was endorsed by more than 30 of Vermont's wealthiest people, including ice cream magnates Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield. The tax-bracket change was projected to raise over $74 million annually in state revenue and would have funded the building of much-needed affordable housing.

Michelle cares deeply about youth, education, and justice. As a lifelong educator, she has taught preschool through high school. She teaches English and social studies online to high school students and is a regular substitute at the Garland School, a nature-based preschool in Brattleboro.

Leslie Goldman has worked tirelessly to improve health care quality while reducing costs to Vermonters. As a retired nurse, she understands the importance of access to primary care for families, children, and elders. She has supported legislation on other matters that are of importance to me - the environment, the climate crisis, affordable housing, employment, and racial and social justice issues.

Leslie's commitment to listening and learning from her constituents is foremost in her work as a legislator. Along with Michelle and Windham County Sens. Wendy Harrison and Nader Hashim, she has led monthly community conversations at the Rockingham Free Public Library, where constituents can directly express their concerns and hear about the issues.

She is dedicated to supporting Windham-3 and all Vermonters with common-sense solutions that reflect Democratic values.

Please join me in casting your vote for Michelle and Leslie.
