BRATTLEBORO-On Friday, May 23, and Saturday, May 24, spectators can step right up and meet the rising stars of circus at the New England Center for Circus Arts (NECCA).
NECCA's ProTrack is a full-time, three-year professional circus program designed to create circus performers ready for the world stage. The ProTrack Year 2 students will debut in a dynamic performance featuring solo acts, group pieces, and collaborations.
"This show celebrates their hard work, passion, and growth as they take their first steps toward shaping the future of circus" with acts on tight wire, trapeze, trampoline, balancing chairs, and more, said organizers in a news release.
Friday's show at 10:30 a.m. is rated G, and customized to be sensory friendly.
The overall sound volume will be lower, with no unexpected loud noises. There will be no full blackout, and the doors to the lobby will remain open for easy body breaks.
The audience seating will be adjusted for wider aisles to leave room for moving around easily, and include mats on the floor in front so kids (and adults) can lie down and lounge - audience members may bring a pillow, blanket, stuffie, and a picnic, if they'd like.
Saturday's shows at 3:30 and 7:30p.m. are rated PG and may include references to intoxication, smoking, and sexuality, along with scantily clad costuming.
Tickets for the Friday morning show are $5 and up (sliding scale), while tickets for the Saturday shows are $10 to $35. Find out more at necenterforcircusarts.org.
