PUTNEY-Twilight Music and Next Stage Arts Project continue the 22nd Twilight On The Tavern Lawn series of bluegrass, Americana, world, swing, and pop music summer concerts on Sunday, Aug. 10, at 6 p.m. with StompBoxTrio.
StompBoxTrio is a western Massachusetts–based group that "blends classic 20th-century American blues, rock, and soul music with 21st-century mojo to create a sonic, soulful, hip-shaking juggernaut all their own," according to their website. Featuring Evelyn Harris (vocals, percussion), John Cabán (dobro, vocals, stompbox),and Paul Kochanski (bass, vocals, foot percussion), the group came together as a one-off gig in the fall of 2017. "Their collective sound, feel, and mutual love and admiration for American roots and blues music, its history and tradition, propelled them to continue this eclectic trio to share with people of all ages for a long time to come," wrote event promoters in a news release.
All concerts begin at 6 p.m. on the Putney Tavern lawn. Concertgoers are invited to bring a lawn chair or blanket. In case of rain, the performance will be at Next Stage, 15 Kimball Hill.
Sponsors include Next Stage, the town of Putney, Rod's, and many Putney area businesses and organizations. The concerts are free to the public (donations are accepted) and food will be available. For more information, call 802-387-5772 or visit nextstagearts.org.
