Builders of all ages to submit their creations for annual Lego competition

BRATTLEBORO-The Brattleboro Museum & Art Center (BMAC) invites Lego enthusiasts of all ages to unleash their creativity and start building for the museum's 18th Annual Lego Contest & Exhibit.

This community tradition celebrating innovation, craftsmanship, and pure imagination will take place Thursday through Monday, October 9 through 13, with an awards ceremony on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 5:30 p.m.

Participants are encouraged to design and construct original Lego creations - anything from fantastical castles and futuristic vehicles to intricate cityscapes or whimsical contraptions.

The contest is open to everyone, with categories for preschool through kindergarten, grades 1–3, grades 4–6, grades 7–12, adults, and adult-child collaborations. Judges will award prizes in each category, and one exceptional creation will be honored as Best in Show.

"Every year we are blown away by the creativity and skill of our community's builders," said BMAC Director Danny Lichtenfeld in a news release. "We love seeing the joy and pride on people's faces when they share what they've created. It's a reminder of how art, design, and play can inspire people of all ages."

All entries must be dropped off at BMAC on Monday, Oct. 6, between 4 and 6 p.m. An online entry form must be submitted before drop-off, including a $5 entry fee. Fee waivers are available upon request. Guidelines and entry forms are available at brattleboromuseum.org.

Special awards will also be given out by Brattleboro Subaru for Best Vehicle, by Foard Panel for Best Home or Building, and by G.S. Precision for Best Use of Moving Parts. Winners of these special categories and Best in Show will each receive a $100 gift card to the Lego Store.
